biography

a.g. perez is a composer and educator based in houston and boston. their hermetic music centers the intimacy of deep, devoted attention through glacially evolving and gently trembling sound worlds. to perez, composing and performing music is an excavatory practice for reckoning with queerness & indigeneity through the observation of relationships between organism & ecosystem and confronting archive & memory.

perez’s works have been performed by ensembles such as loadbang, the aura contemporary ensemble, and the kazoku quartet. recent and upcoming collaborators include violin-viola duo andplay, flutist-composer samantha kochis, and vocalist luisana rivas. they teach private lessons in composition primarily with through the staff.

currently, perez studies composition at the boston conservatory at berklee. they study with ti mccormack & victoria cheah.
